Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed could not take part in the first two ODI matches against India due to injury. Taskin played in the third ODI against India in Chattogram. But it seemed that he was not totally fit. The pacer could not bowl above 130 or 135 kilometres per hour in that match.
Though Taskin Ahmed played in the third ODI match in Chattogram and bagged two wickets, he conceded 89 runs. Taskin did not show such kind of performance recently. He bowled most costly bowling in Chattogram ODI in his career. As Taskin is not totally fit, a question has been arisen that if the Team Management Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will give chance Taskin to play in the first Test against India, which will start tomorrow.
The total squad of Bangladesh Test team took part in their full-fledged practice session at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday.
After the practice session Taskin Ahmed spoke to the journalists. He said, ” I talked to the members of Team Management Committee of BCB. As I have become from injury recently, the members of Team Management Committee of the BCB are worried about my buildup. I worked everything for buildup, fitness, bowling recently. If the members of the Team Management Committee think that I can play, I shall take part in the first Test match, otherwise I shall take rest. In that case, I shall target to play in the second Test. The members of the Team Management have given me a workload plan. I have been working according to the plan.”
