Investigation on whether 7 lakh people came to Dhaka to attend the BNP rally: DB

Staff Reporter :
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has allowed the BNP to hold a rally at Golapbagh playground in the capital on Saturday (December 10).
DB Chief Mohammad Haron or Rashid said that investigation is on whether seven lakh people of BNP came to capital or not attend to the rally.
He said this while talking to reporters in front of the DB office on Friday (December 9) afternoon.
It is heard that seven lakh people had entered Dhaka in the last few days marking the BNP mass rally. When asked about this, the DB chief said, “We are investigating the matter.” When asked about the arrest of Mirza Fakhrul and Mirza Abbas, he said,
“We interrogated them and sent them to the court.” We have not asked for their remand. The court will deal the issue now.
In response to another question, the DB chief said that the conditions of the rally will remain the same what we earlier announced for Suhrawardy Udyan. We have adequate number of police there for ensuring the security.
Our team has already started working. We are monitoring, so that there is no anarchy around this gathering. The police are working towards that goal. The same security arrangements will be enforced in place at the Golapbagh ground as well, he added.
