Lalmonirhat Freedom Day celebrated

On December 6, 1971, Lalmonirhat district was liberated from the invaders. On this occasion, the Lalmonirhat Freedom Day was celebrated by the District Administration through colorful rallies, discussion meetings and remembrance of freedom fighters.
A colorful rally came out from the playground of Lalmonirhat Government High School and it paraded the main road of the city on Tuesday.
The chief guest was the new Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ullah in the discussion and memorial meeting was held at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium. The special guest was Zilla Parishad Chairman Adv. Matiar Rahman, Superintendent of Police Saiful Islam, Member of the National Executive Committee of Awami League Adv. Safura Begum Rumi, civil surgeon Dr. Nirmalendu Roy, former district commander of Muktijoddha Sangsad, Bir Muktijoddha Mezbah Uddin. Liberation war was commemorated by heroic freedom fighter guerrilla leader Shafiqul Islam Kanu, heroic freedom fighter Abdul Quddus and others.
Leaders of political parties, brave freedom fighters, government workers, teachers and students of schools and colleges participated in the event.
