Huge stimulant drugs seized in Bhangura

The mobile court has seized a large quantity of goods including adulterated and sexually stimulating drugs by raiding an unauthorized drug factory in Bhangura Municipality of Pabna. The mobile court fined the factory owner Tk 10,000 for manufacturing adulterated drugs. The operation was conducted at a house in Chaubaria Masterpara Mohalla of the municipal headquarters on Sunday (December 4) night. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate D. Bipasha Hossain conducted the mobile court.
 It is known that Rezaul Karim Reza alias Babu, a resident of Masterpara Mohalla, was secretly manufacturing and marketing adulterated and sexually aphrodisiac drugs in an unlicensed factory called “Reza Ayurvedic Laboratories” in his homestead. On the basis of such news, a team of resident medical officer of Upazila Health Complex and police led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) went to that factory at eight o’clock on Sunday night. A large amount of sexually stimulating drugs were found there during the search. The executive magistrate fined Tk 10,000 to his wife Hasi Khatun as the owner of the company, Rezaul Karim Babu, was not found.
Resident Medical Officer Dr. Al Amin said, adulterated medicines were being produced and packaged in that factory without approval in a completely unhygienic and ghostly environment. Hence the factory machinery room is locked till the government approval is obtained.
Executive Magistrate D. Bipasha Hossain said, under Section 52 of Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009, a fine of ten thousand rupees has been paid for the crime of manufacturing, packaging and marketing drugs in unauthorized factories. Besides, 200 pitches of Sucrosanjiboni and 5000 pitches levels worth Tk 150,000 have been seized and burnt.
