Food materials distributed in Sylhet

The voluntary organization Lions Clubs International Bangladesh District 315 B1 distributed food items among natural disaster affected people in Sylhet on Saturday. A total of 2,000 families received the food materials in Lalabazar in Dakshin Surma, Vatpara in Shahporan area, Balurmat and Kujarkhola of Sylhet city on Saturday. They also distribute in Habiganj Anuarpur Bipass Road and Beanibazar on Friday. Two traders arrested with Yabas

Two businessmen named Mohammad Musa (50) and Touhidul Islam (24) with 11,700 pieces of yabas in Feni have been arrested. They were sent to jail by the court on Saturday afternoon. The source reported that on Friday night, with the help of OC Nizam Uddin of Feni Model Police Station and under the leadership of Inspector (Investigation) Mahfuzur Rahman, a private car named Dhaka Metro-33-2354 was driving on the west side of the bridge adjacent to Shan Shah Fakir Mazar Gate of Birinchi area of Feni Municipal Corporation. Police seized and searched. Meanwhile, the police recovered 11,700 pieces of yaba kept behind the car.
For being involved in the incident, the police arrested Musa, son of deceased Abdul Aziz of Shikdar’s house in Bejula village of Cox’s Bazar, and Touhid, son of Amir Hossain of Master Zahir Ahmed’s house in Teknaf Sabbang area. Sources said that the estimated value of recovered yaba is Tk 35 lakh 10 thousand. Feni Model Police Station OC Nizam Uddin said that after taking legal action against the arrested persons, they were sent to jail through the court on Saturday afternoon.
