BCL DU unit council today

The annual council of Bangladesh Chhatra League(BCL), Dhaka University unit, is going to be held today on the DU campus.
Around 250 candidates submitted their CV for two top posts of the countrywide oldest university unit of BCL, ‘President and General Secretary’, on Friday.
According to Election Commission of BCL, a total of 212 candidates submitted their CVs within 8pm on Friday and the submission was going till 10pm at Madhur Canteen of DU.
The race of candidates to get the top positions of the organization was going on at full speed. They were busy at maintaining connections with top Awami League(AL) leaders and also those leaders who are taking care of BCL.
Conventionally, candidate’s birthplaces were considered for selecting
the top posts of BCL and leaders were elected from every region by rotation.
This year, popularity among students, connection with students and good image in the campus, student orientation and knowledge based activities will be considered for selecting the top post for BCL unit, according to the AL leaders.
Besides, candidate’s previous activities, especially during different crisis periods of the country and the party, family background will be considered.
BCL president Al-Nahean Khan Joy will inaugurate the council while AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader will be present as the chief guest and BCL general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee will be present as the chief speaker.
‘Following the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are going to present an aesthetic and cost-effective council on Saturday,’ said Saddam Hussain, General Secretary of DU unit BCL said.
The 30th annual conference of BCL has been scheduled to be held on December 6 at the Suhrawardy Udyan of the capital.
The last 29th conference of BCL was held in May 2018.
