Law, Order Committee meeting held

The Law and Order Committee meeting of Kapasia Upazila was held on Monday. Parliamentary Standing Committee President and Presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League Simin Hossain Rimi MP was present as the Chief there. AKM Golam Morshed Khan, UNO chaired the meeting. Among others, Upazila Parishad Chairman Add. Md Amanat Hossain Khan, Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Asad, Women Vice Chairman Roshan Ara Sarkar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nazmul Hossain and representatives of police station administration were present.

Farmers gathering in Ishwardi

A farmers’ assembly was held in Ishwardi to raise crops on uncultivated fallow land. The gathering was held in the hall of the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department recently. Upazila executive officer PM Imrul Kayes presided. The chief guest was the brave freedom fighter Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas. Upazila Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan was the special guest. Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Mita Sarkar gave a welcome address to the farmers gathering to ensure food security through cultivation in uncultivated fallow land. Conducted by Upazila Assistant Agricultural Extension Officer Abdul Munnaf. Upazila Farmers League Joint-Convener Murad Ali Malitha, Bangabandhu National Agriculture Award-winning farmer Kopi Bari, Upazila Additional Agriculture Officer Mahmuda Mutmainna, Deputy Assistant Officer of Agriculture Extension Directorate Ishwardi and farmers from various unions of the upazila were present.
Speakers at the farmers’ rally said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government is working relentlessly to bring the fallow land under cultivation. At this time, he advised the farmers to grow crops on the uncultivated land.
