Actress Sarika files case against 2nd husband, arrest warrant issued against him

Popular model, TV actress and host Sarika Sabrin has filed
a case against her husband Badruddin Ahmed Rahi for allegedly torturing her and demanding dowry. She
confirmed to the news to file
a case against him on Monday.
A Dhaka court on Monday issued arrest warrant against Badruddin Ahmed Rahi,
husband of model and actor Sarika Sabrin in a case lodged for allegedly physically
assaulting her for dowry.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farah Diba Chonda passed the order after recording statements of the victim and plaintiff Sarika. The court also set December 21 for submitting report on executing Monday’s order, plaintiff’s counsel Advocate Masudur Rahman Masud said.
According to the case documents, Sarika and Rahi tied the knot on February 2, 2022. Sarika’s parents presented full set of furniture along with gold ornaments of Tk25 lakh in the marriage. But after few days, Rahi allegedly began assaulting Sarika for Tk50 lakh in dowry and recently sent Sarika back to her parents’ residence.
On November 19, members of the two families tried to sort things out through mutual negotiation, but Rahi again at that meeting demanded Tk50 lakh for investing in businesses and threatened to divorce Sarika and marry another girl for the money, unless his demands are made.
Earlier, in 2016, Sarika got divorced to Mahim Karim,
with whom she had tied the knot in 2014.
