Sub-Assistant land officer in Sonagazi accused of taking bribes

A sub-assistant land officer named Mohammad Shah Alam in Sonagazi of Feni has been accused of accepting bribes by intimidating expatriate families. A victim named Tashlima Akhter filed a written complaint with the Feni Deputy Commissioner, Additional District Magistrate and various government offices on Sunday morning demanding the return of bribe money and demanding punishment. Accused Mohammad Shah Alam is working as Sub-Assistant Land Officer of Amirabad Union Land Office of Upazila.
According to the complaint received, Tashlima Akhtar, daughter of deceased Mahbubul Haque of Charsonapur village of Amirabad Union, is living in her father’s house with her mother. His two brothers are expatriates. One brother is studying in London on scholarship. His mother Rokeya Begum Charsonapur Maujar No. 292 CSA 891 Khatiane No. 2191 and Dag is the owner of three centuries of land by purchase. Where there are trees and empty spaces. His cousin Shah Jahan Siraji filed a case No. 542 under Section 145 in the Additional District Magistrate’s Court (ADM Court) of Feni to construct a boundary wall on the said land. The court ordered the OC of Sonagazi Model Police Station and Sonagazi Assistant Commissioner (Land) to investigate the matter and submit a report.
