Accused in Gaibanda polls rigging will be punished: EC Anisur

Election Commissioner Md. Anisur Rahman said who are involved in Gaibanda vote rigging will face punishment.
The penalty will depend on the Election Commission’s (EC) provision, he added.
He exposed it while talking with the newsmen at his office in Agargoan EC’s headquarters on Wednesday.
EC Anisur Rahman said the investigation report had been submitted on Monday. We did not read the new one as previous report were seen and read.
He said a lot of evidence was there as a group of people were involved in rigging vote in Gaibanda polls. These people will get proper punishment according to EC’s rules.
Mentioning 12th parliamentary polls will be
organized in a free and fair manner; EC Anisur said our best effort will be given to organize acceptable polls to all.
CCTV would be installed in 300 constituencies for making the election fair, he added.
He said decision on the punishment would be declared in next week.
