AL leader Biplab was murdered, doctor says

The dead body of Durant Biplab, a member of the Central Awami League’s sub-committee on agriculture and cooperatives, was recovered from the Buriganga river in Narayanganj’s Fatulla and he was murdered, says a physician.
Mohammad Mofizuddin, Medical Officer of Narayanganj General Hospital confirmed it to the media and said, ” several Injury marks were found in the back of his head. Initially, it is suspected to be a murder case, said after conducting an autopsy.
Earlier on Saturday afternoon, police recovered the body from the Pagla Ghat area of the Buriganga River, said Inspector Shahjahan Ali, Officer-in-charge of Pagla River outpost in Fatullah.
His sister Shaswati Biplab confirmed his identity to the police on Sunday morning. Biplab (51) was the son of one late Abdul Mannan of Chhota Ilashpur area of Purbadhala in Netrakona district.
He owned an agricultural farm in Keraniganj area.
He was the former general secretary of Jahangirnagar University unit Chhatra League and a member of the sub-committee on agriculture and cooperative affairs of the central committee of Awami League.
According to the family and police, Biplab went missing while going to his mother’s house in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur from Keraniganj on November 7.
The last tracked location of Biplab’s mobile phone was in Muslimbagh area of Kamrangirchar, police said.
His family filed a GD at South Keraniganj police station on November 9.
