90 men sued in Kishoreganj

A case has been filed against 89 BNP men in Kishoreganj in connection with a clash between the BNP activists and the Police in Kishoreganj town on Monday that left some 32 including 12 Cops hurt.
Kishoreganj district BNP General Secretary Mazharul Islam has been made prime accused in the case.
Additional SP (Finance & Admin) in Kishoreganj Mustaque Sarker confirmed the news of Tuesday noon.
Sub – Inspector (SI) of Kishoreganj Model Police Station Anik Kumar Shaha filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act against 19 named people including. BNP district General Secretary Mazharul Islam and some 60 to 70 unknown people, last night the Additional SP added.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, the clash took place in front of the district BNP office on the Station Road on the occasion of Revolution and Solidarity Day
In this incident, two people, including General Secretary of the District Volunteer Party, Abu Naser Sumon, have been arrested.
District Volunteers General Secretary Abu Naser Sumon and District BNP Senior Vice President, retired District Judge Rezaul Karim Khan Chunnu’s driver Saiful Islam have been made the accused in the case. In addition to the case, District Youth Party President Khasruzzaman Sharif, General Secretary (Acting) Md. Sajjad Hossain, District Chhatra Dal President Maruf Miah, General Secretary Ferdous Ahmed Neveen, Joint General Secretary Rafiuzzaman Naushad, District BNP General Secretary Mazharul Islam, Joint General Secretary Khaled Saifullah Sohel, Organizational Secretary Md. Israel Miah and 19 people have been named. Kishoreganj, Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Daud said that, BNP leaders and activists were blocking the road and marching on Monday afternoon. As they were asked to vacate the road, bricks were hurled at the police from the procession. At one point, the chair was thrown from inside the office. He and 11 members of the police were injured. Later, the situation was brought under control by firing a few rounds of blank shots from the shotgun. Abu Naser Sumon and Saiful Islam were arrested from the spot in this incident. They were later shown arrested. They produced in CJM court on Tuesday noon. . The police are conducting an operation to arrest the remaining accused.
