Members of BD T20 Cricket team return home

Members of Bangladesh T20 Cricket team returned to the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night from Australia after taking part in the ICC T20 World Cup at the different venues of Australia. Captain of Shakib Al Hasan did not come to Dhaka with his teammate. He left Australia for the United States of Australia to spend his time with his family. Nurul Hasan Sohan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz are now also staying in Sydney. They will spend some days there.
Before taking part in the ICC T20 World Cup, Bangladesh arrived New Zealand on September 30 to compete in a tri-nation series there. Bangladesh, hosts New Zealand and Pakistan took part in the cricket meet. After ending the tri-nation series Bangladesh T20 Cricket team reached Australia. After a long 38-day cricket campaign Bangladesh T20 Cricket team returned home. Bangladesh played two warm-up matches before competing the ‘Super Twelve’ phase of the ICC T20 World Cup. Bangladesh played against Afghanistan in the first warm-up match. The second warm-up match between Bangladesh and Australia was abandoned as the rain washed out the game.
Bangladesh team got mixed success in the ICC T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Netherlands, Zimbabwe were in Group-2.
Bangladesh defeated Netherlands by nine runs on October 24. Bangladesh tasted a 104-run defeat to South Africa on October 27. The Red-and-Green outfit beat Zimbabwe by three runs. Bangladesh suffered a narrow five-run defeat (according to Duckworth/Lewis/ Stern Method) to India in a rain interrupted match on November 2.
Bangladesh lost to Pakistan by five wickets after ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was victim a controversial LBW decision on November 6. Thus, Bangladesh’s World Cup campaign ended in sorrow. If Bangladesh could win against Pakistan, Bangladesh will reach the semis.
However, the cricketers will get some days recess before starting the upcoming home series against India.
