Inflation falls in October

Inflation fell to 8.91 per cent in October, data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics showed on Tuesday. It stood at 9.10 per cent in September after surging to a 10-year high of 9.52 per cent in August.
Planning Minister MA Mannan shared the data after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council in Dhaka. Food inflation fell to 8.5 per cent last month from 9.08 per cent a month ago. Non-food inflation, however, rose 45 basis points to 9.58 per cent from 9.13 per cent in September.
