111 arrested in DMP’s anti-narcotics drive

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested at least 111 people in the city in a regular anti-narcotics drive on the charges of selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different Police Stations arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Saturday.
During the drives, they seized 8,582 pieces of Yaba tablets, 37gms of heroin, 77.745gms hemp, 105 bottles of phensedyl, 70 litre of local wine, 3 liters of local wine, 2 cans of Beer and 300 pieces of injectable drugs from their possessions, the statement said.
According to the statement, a total of 85 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
