The low-income and middle-income earners of Sylhet are disoriented due to the abnormal increase in the price of vegetables in most of the markets.
The lower and middle classes are crying all around in misery. Commodity prices are sitting on people like a rock. Every thing useful for life has a fire price in the market. The raw curry prices of brinjal, potato, radish, plantain, gourd, sweet pumpkin, leek, puishak, red shallot, bitter gourd, Prabhuti have gone up, and the people who are eating have lost their way.
At this time, raw vegetables are supposed to be in the market, but the market does not match that. On the other hand, the price of every thing useful for living is also sky high.
Prices of rice, dal, fish, meat, oil, sugar, salt, flour, eggs, onion, garlic, solabut have increased several times compared to before. As a result, the lower class people are struggling to meet the needs of the family.
On the one hand, people are unemployed at this time, on the other hand, there are frequent floods and heavy rains in this area, causing huge damage to vegetable crops. All in all, the lives of the lower and middle income people are now in turmoil due to the unbridled prices of the raw market
Buying vegetables is difficult now. So the hungry people are trying to eat three meals with one meal of vegetables. At present, common people have to buy every vegetable at three to four times the price per kg. The people of the area are in crisis due to the price of goods in the market. Frustration is increasing among people who work day by day.
As a result, disappointed buyers are forced to leave the market at higher prices and return home. Trying to survive somehow. The prices of all things are increasing one after another.
The situation has become such that it becomes difficult for the low income people to survive. 1000-1200 taka per kg, pond fish 500-700 taka depending on the type, bill fish 700-1000 taka per kg, papada fish 400-500 taka per kg, radish rice 15-20 taka, beef 700-750 taka per kg, goat meat 1000 taka Kg, hilsa big Tk 2000-2200 Kg Soybean oil bottled Tk 205 Kg, Botov Tk 60 Kg, Puishak Tk 50 Kg.
Abdul Hasan, who came to the market in the morning, said that he had to spend most of his income to buy legumes and vegetables.
