Rooppur Nuclear’s skilled human resources will contribute to the country’s economy

The construction work of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has almost reached its final stage with the installation of nuclear reactor vessel in the second unit. The indigenous engineers and workers continue to demonstrate their ability to operate the nuclear power plant, including the physical infrastructure construction of the project. General laborers also demonstrated professionalism in construction skills. That’s why Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman said in the same tone, ‘We can do it’ in the inauguration ceremony of the installation of nuclear reactor vessels in the second unit on October 19. Rosatom, the Russian contractor for the project, expressed satisfaction with the work of the Bengalis. These skilled human resources of Bengali have the potential to create job opportunities in big projects abroad.
However, the project stakeholders have expressed the opinion that the stakeholders need special monitoring so that these human resources do not fall prey to fraud in the field of work abroad.

Rosatom Director General Alexei Likhachev attended the inauguration of a training center at the Ruppur NPP site after the inauguration ceremony on October 19. At this time, he said, training will be provided to all the Bangladeshis who will be involved in the management of this new and modern center. In addition to specialized classrooms, specialists will undergo training in specialized facilities equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The Russian side has formulated the necessary systematic program for this training, using which the Bangladesh side will be able to train its own personnel in the future.
Project Director Dr. Shaukat Akbar said that Bangladesh wants to rely on domestic engineers in the management of nuclear power plants and not depend on foreign countries in accordance with the instructions of the International Atomic Energy Agency. We are developing skilled human resources, whose performance has already caught the attention of Russian policy-makers. Hungary is very interested in employing our experienced workers. In this reality, there is a great potential for the work of our skilled manpower in various countries including Egypt, Turkey, Germany.
Alexey Deiri, vice president of Russia’s Atomstroy Export, which implemented the Rooppur project, said, Bangladeshis who are working on the Rooppur project can say with confidence that we have not only produced workers but have been able to create truly professional human resources. Those who are not only mechanical work; Rather, they are capable of making their own decisions. They are working fully maintaining the quality standards.
The project stakeholders said, there is no doubt that nuclear skilled manpower will add a new feather to the crown of Bangladesh’s indomitable progress. A database needs to be created centrally for these skilled human resources. These human resources working abroad have created an opportunity to bring a large amount of remittances to the country. Which will enrich the economy of the country. Stakeholders should take immediate action to ensure that these human resources are not cheated abroad and get fair access.
