Service started to remove tax fear

Rangpur Tax Zone has started accepting income tax returns of taxpayers. Tax Commissioner Md. Abul Kalam inspected tax service activities at Kar Bhavan Kachari Bazar on Tuesday. At this time, he said that in order to remove the fear of income tax, increase tax awareness and provide more intensive tax services, the tax circle will continue to accept income tax returns during office hours till November 30, 2022, to provide all services to taxpayers, including filing income tax returns in a fair manner.
Instead of organizing income tax fair in the situation of covid-19, services for receipt of income tax returns are provided from 1st to 30th of November in the same fair environment as in previous years. With the aim of developing tax culture, increasing tax awareness and gaining the trust and confidence of respected taxpayers, a comprehensive tax service delivery program has been launched throughout the month of November.
Eye camp held at Borhanuddin

A free eye camp was held at Gangapur Union in Borhanuddin Upazila in Bholaon Monday. The camp is organized by the Grameen Jan Unnayan Sanstha under Samriddhi Sasthya Seva Programme of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation. Dr. Md. Jannatul Naim Siam of Barisal Ispahani Islamia Eye Hospital saw the patient in eye camp in the hall room of Gangapur Union Parishad . Camp Organizer Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Refractionist Shamima Ferdous, Assist Ophthalmics Person Tanya Islam and Nurse Latika Halder were present as assistants. On behalf of the organization the Assistant Director Abu Bakar, Samriddhi Union coordinator Abdul Jabbar and Dr. Samriddhi Health Officer Kamal Majumdar were present.
Surya Puja held in Ishwardi

The two-day Surya (Chhat) Puja of the Hindu community has concluded in Ishwardi in a festive atmosphere. On Monday and Sunday afternoon, thousands of women and a large number of men from the Hindu community gathered at the pond of Ishwardi Upazila Chatwar to worship Sunya Dev. Amidst all this, Surya Puja was held in Ishwardi in grandeur for a long time. Before sunset on Sunday, especially the women of Abangali Hindus start this puja by wading in water up to their waists in ponds. This puja continues till sunset. On Monday morning, before sunrise, women once again go down to the pond and worship Suryadev until sunrise. UNO PM Imrul Kayes, former president of Prescab Swapan Kumar Kundu and local leading people were present. A festive atmosphere prevails among the Hindu community in Ishwardi on the occasion of Surya Puja.
There is no idol worship in this puja. The setting and rising suns are worshipped. Women observe a strict fast of 36 hours with eating gourd rice two days before the puja and kheer rice one day before. In puja complete sattvic oblations etc. are offered in pots, twigs or pachi. A traditional Bihari folk food “Thekua” is prepared with various fruits root, sweets etc. and offered as offerings.
A complete vegetarian diet without salt and spices is taken during this time. After the puja, distribution of prasad to relatives and neighbors is one of the rules of this puja. This worship of the Hindu community has now become universal. People of different languages and communities have realized the importance of this puja and started participating in the puja.
Indian cosmetics seized, 2 held in Bhairab

The police have arrested two smuggles with a large quantity of Indian cosmetics from the road adjacent to the power house of Bhairab pirt town early Sunday. At this time, a covered van carrying cosmetics was seized.
Bhairab Model Police Station Officer in Charge (OC, Investigation) Qaiser Ahmed concerned to the matter. The two arrested are covered van driver Dulal (35), son of deceased Abdul Bari of Fenibil village of Sunamganj Sadar and Shafiq Mia (27), son of Khorsed Mia of Chalitatala village of Bahubal police station in Habiganj. OC (Investigation) /also said that the gang was taking a few cartons of famous Indian brands of cosmetics from the border areas to the capital in a covered van. They were arrested . Later, the police filed a case in the Police Station as a plaintiff in the incident. During the interrogation of the detainees, they could not show any documents of cosmetics. Later they were sent to the CJM Court in Kishoreganj Court on Saturday afternoon
