Six held over youth murder in Sylhet

A youth named Saiful Islam (28) was killed in a clash between two groups at Sylhet’s Bishwanath over a land dispute on Tuesday. Police arrested six people in this incident on Wednesday.
The deceased is the son of Abdul Mannan of Charchandi village of Daulatpur union of Siikful upazila. He is a CNG autorickshaw driver by profession.
After the post-mortem, the police handed over his body to the family.
According to local and police sources, there has been a long-standing dispute between the Abdul Aziz Munsi and Nurul Amin sides of Charchandi village. Because of this, people from both sides clashed on Tuesday around 10:30 pm.
Saiful Islam of Abdul Aziz Munsi’s side was seriously injured. Later he was taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Four people were injured in the clash. They are – Badrul Islam (32) and Fakhrul Islam (35), brothers of the deceased Saiful Islam, Nurul Islam (48) and Nurul Amin (45), sons of deceased Abdul Gafur of Charchandi village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Biswanath Police Station Gazi Ataur Rahman said-dead body has been handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
The case has been filed by the family of the deceased. Police have arrested 6 people from both sides in the clash. Out of them 3 are under treatment in hospital, remaining 3 have been sent to court.
