No clear favourites in World Cup 2022

The World Cup Football, the greatest show on earth begins from November 20 at eight stadiums of the oil rich Qatar with 32 countries and regions, but no clear favourites. Argentine super star Messi has given his opinion in favour of highest five times champions Brazil, the World No. 1. At the same time, he, however, did not rule out his team Argentina, which won the championship last in 1986. Not only Messi, many soccer critics at home and abroad are saying that Argentina need their third trophy to survive as soccer power house, Otherwise, they will be a 2nd Uruguay, which won last time in 1950 defeating highly favourites Brazil in the championship deciding match.
The European soccer critics always attach more importance to the South American teams in order to attract more revenue. They are stressing on Brazil,. Brazil missed the trophy on several occasions due to wrong players selection and impractical strategy. It might happen this year also, since Neymar is there. They should have won in 1938, 1950, 1978, 1982, 1998, 2010, and 2014 at home.
Rather (West) Germany and Italy are more calculative, winning four times each. (West) Germany lost to Hungary 3-8 at the group stage, to avoid Brazil in the semifinals. They eventually became champions beating the same Hungary side in the final. They did it in 1974 to get success. (West) Germany lost to East Germany 0-1 in order to avoid Brazil in the quarterfinals. They beat rising power house Holland 2-1 in the final.
Italy became champions in 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006. Brazil fielded under-strength team in 1938 against Italy in semifinals and lost. Italy came from 0-2 goals deficit to beat more attacking Brazil in 1982. After surprise defeat, Zico said, “Football is the game of goal.”
Argentina have a chance because of Messi who needs to make his football career meaningful. The teammates have promised to play to their best. Till date, we have to wait.
