Staff Reporter :
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has accused the government of suppressing their spontaneous movements by killing and repression of the party workers. But the movements will continue until the government hands over power to a caretaker government.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday said that there would be no election under the partisan government and the ruling party has to resign and dissolve the parliament.
Addressing a Jubo rally on the occasion of the 44th founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal at Naya Paltan in the capital, Mirza Fakhrul said that a tremor has started inside Awami League after observing the just concluded three rallies in three divisions in Chattogram,
Mymensingh and Khulna.
Mentioning the names of three slain Jubo Dal leaders in Munshiganj and Narayanganj, he said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to suppress the movements by resorting to persecution.”
Should it be allowed to continue? Fakhrul asked.
About the mismanagement in the electoral system, BNP Secretary General said, “There is no election in the country. The Awami League has destroyed it. The DC and SP do not listen to the Election Commission. The EC cannot hold an election. So there cannot be any polls.”
About BNP’s stance on the election, the BNP Spokesperson said, “We clearly want to say – there cannot be any election under the AL government.
