BD face SA in a vital T20 WC match today

Spirited Bangladesh (BD) will face South Africa (SA) in their vital second Group-2 match of the ‘Super Twelve’ of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup (WC) at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney of Australia today. The match will start at 9.00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). State-owned television channel BTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports, private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start in their ICC T20 World Cup 2022 campaign defeating Netherlands by nine runs at Hobart in Australia on October 24.
On the other hand, South Africa split points with Zimbabwe in their first match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 as their match at Hobart was abandoned due to heavy rain.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh played seven T20I matches against South Africa and South Africa won all the matches.
Members of Bangladesh Cricket team took part in their practice sessions at Sydney on Wednesday.
Captain of Bangladesh T20 Cricket team Shakib Al Hasan said, ” I think we have enough preparation to face the pacers of South Africa. If our batters face properly the bowlers of South Africa tomorrow, we shall get success.”
Shakib said, ” All the players will set his game plan to face the bowlers and batters of South Africa. Our cricketers will get independence to play according to their decision in tomorrow’s match. If any batter wants to hit four or six from his start of his innings, he will do. If any bowler wants to give bouncer or yorker from the opening of his bowling, he will do.”
Before today’s match, Bangladesh T20 Cricket team never played at Sydney Cricket Ground. A lot of Bangladeshi leave Sydney.
Hasan said, ” There will be a lot of Bangladeshi spectators at the galleries of SCG. If we execute their support, it will be helpful for us.”
He said, ” It is very much important for us to earn victory against South Africa, if we want to reach the semi-finals. We want to show our ability to struggle against South Africa. This match is also important for South Africa. So, it is a crucial match for both teams.”
The ace all-rounder said, ” T20 match is game of momentum. So, it is very important to hold the momentum and then, maintain the momentum. Many performers can show in Test cricket and One Day International (ODI). But in T20 match, there will be a few performers to do well in a match. So, a participants have to perform an exact display.”
He said, ” The openers have a chance to show aggressive performance in total 20 overs. I believe our openers have ability to do that. Our bowlers can perform up to the mark like last match. They have the capability to pick up 10 wickets. We want to play aggressive cricket and also enjoy the tomorrow’s match.’
