UNO sentenced light punishment for misbehaving with female colleagues

Charrajipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kurigram Amit Chakraborty has been ‘reprimanded’ with a light sentence as a punishment, despite the allegations of sexual harassment against a female colleague of Assistant Commissioner (land). However, rights activists are unwilling to accept it as a punishment
It is known that Amit Chakraborty committed this crime while staying at UNO in Kishoreganj, Nilphamari. Ministry of Public Administration recently issued a notification with light punishment to this official as the crime was proved in the investigation after the departmental case. According to the notification, Amit Chakraborty misbehaved with a female AC land working under him while he was UNO of Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari. It was alleged that he had an indecent conversation with the female officer on Facebook Messenger. He also pressured the female colleague to do everything according to the directives of the UNO.
