Global Covid cases near 633 million

The overall number of global Covid-19 cases is gradually nearing 633 million.

According to the latest global data, the total case count mounted to 632,909,744 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,582,821 on Monday morning.

The US has recorded 99,087,548 cases so far, while 1,092,948 people have died from the virus in the country, both highest counts around the world.

India’s daily COVID-19 caseload Sunday decreased to 1,994, officials said.

According to federal health ministry data released on Sunday morning, 1,994 new cases of COVID-19 were reported during the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 44,642,742 in the country.

The country also logged four related deaths during the past 24 hours, pushing the overall death toll to 528,961 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.
