Marine engineer found dead at Dhanmondi Lake

Police recovered the blood-soaked body of a marine engineer from the city’s Dhanmondi lake area early Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Shahadat Hossain Majumder, 51, and a resident of Kalabagan of the capital.
Ikram Hossain, Officer-in-charge OC of Dhanmondi police station, confirmed the matter to the New Nation that the members of law enforcement recovered the body from Rabindra Sarobar beside the lake around 2:30 am and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
Motaleb Hossain, the elder brother of the victim, told the New Nation that Shahadat left home for jogging near the Dhanmondi lake around 8:30pm on Saturday according to his daily routine. As he did not return home for long, the
family members went out in search of him. Later, they reported the issue to the Dhanmondi Police Station, who reported them back with the news of recovery after some time.
The body has injury marks sustained from a sharp weapon,” OC added. Motaleb also said his brother was the chief engineer of a foreign vessel and returned home from the United States around a month ago for his daughter SSC exam.
