Low pressure area over the Bay likely to intensify in 24 hours: Met office

The low pressure over the Andaman Sea and the adjoining southwest Bay persists and it is likely to intensify in the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department said on Friday.
However, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky over the country, the department said in its weather bulletin.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged in the country.
However, the weather may deteriorate in the next 72 hours, according to the extended forecast.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have, meanwhile, been advised to watch further necessary instruction carefully, according to a special bulletin.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and the deep sea have been advised to be caution. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
