Seven dengue patients die; 864 hospitalised

Seven dengue patients died and 864 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.
With the latest seven death one hundred more people died of dengue so far this year.
 According to the source of Directorate General of Health Services press release, a total of 106 people died of dengue to date.
At present, 3,304 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.
Of them, 2,247 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 1057 are in other divisions.  
As many as 27,802 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.
Some 24,392 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
Meanwhile, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is conducting a week-long special campaign to protect city residents from dengue by controlling Aedes mosquitoes.
On the first day of the campaign, a fine of Tk 6 lakh 63 thousand was imposed in 20 cases due to the presence of Aides mosquito larvae in buildings in 10 regions of DNCC.
DNCC has started a special operation from Wednesday (October 19). Salim Reza, Chief Executive Officer of DNCC, inaugurated this campaign in Moghbazar area under the jurisdiction of Region-3.
