BPL 2023: Syhet Strikers ropes in Mashrafe, Amir, Perera

The next season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is still a couple of months away, meanwhile, the franchises are packing their teams with big names.
Sylhet Strikers, owned by Future Sports Limited, has revealed their team logo and chose the former captain of Bangladesh Mashrafe bin Morataza as their icon player in a dazzling show.
Sylhet Strikers held a logo unveiling ceremony at a capital’s five-star hotel on Thursday. The former captain of the national team said that he will try to fulfill the expectations.
“Hopefully the journey of the team will be good and everything will go well until the end of the tournament. Expectations will be fulfilled. It is an honor to be the icon of the team. I will try to give my best,” Mashrafe said during the program.
Apart from Mashrafe, Sylhet has roped in three Sri Lankan stars Kamindu Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera, along with former Pakistani star Mohammad Amir.
The franchise also announced the names of the coaching staffs today. Former national team cricketer Rajin Saleh will work with the team as an assistant coach.
Syed Rasel will be the pace bowling coach and Murad Khan will be the spin bowling coach. Dolar Mahmud, another former pacer of the national team, will serve as the fielding coach.
Former national team opener and manager Nafees Iqbal will be seen as the manager of Sylhet Strikers.
