Date molasses adulterator fined TK 3 lakh in Natore

One date molasses (gur) manufacturer has been fined Taka three lakh on charge of his involvement in adulterating the food item in the district on Monday afternoon.
A team of the Department of National Consumers Rights Protection (DNCRP) conducted a sudden raid at Balitita Islampur area under Lalpur upazila in Natore district at around 5.30 pm and found Sagar Hossain guilty of the charge.
The team supported by RAB also seized 3,000 kilograms of adulterated gur, 280 kilograms of textile colours, 65 kilograms of hydrosulphite, 20 kilograms of fitkari, 10 kilograms of dalda and five kilograms of lime after searching the gur-making factory.
Subsequently, the team fined Sagar Hossain Taka 3 lakh.
Quoting their confessional statement, DNCRP Assistant Director Hassan Al Maruf said the man was involved in manufacturing date molasses in unhygienic and health hazard manners.
Such types of drive will be continued in the days to come to protect the public health from health hazards, he added.
