DC visits IT training project

Md. Abu Zafar DC of Lalmonirhat visited the project in Kaliganj under the 2nd phase of free basic IT training project for rural communities as the chief guest. The three-month long computer training course has been running collaboration with Information and Communication Technology Department in the implementation of PF IT Training Center and Public Library Profit Foundation. Kaliganj UNO Md. Abdul Mannan was the special guest in the exchange meeting, PF Executive Director Md. Nuruzzaman Ahmed presided. Upazila project implementation officer Md. Ferdous Ahmed, organization chairman Mocha: Motahara Begum, team trainer Zahid Hasan, ICT lecturer and master trainer Md. Mahubar Rahman, PF volunteers Md. Redwan Islam Roni and Md. Swadhin Islam, Rezwana and others were present. Free basic computer training and IT training are being provided to more than 200 rural communities.
World Food Day observed

The World Food Day was observed in the country today as elsewhere in the world in a befitting manner. This year’s theme of the day is ‘Leave no one behind. Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life’ . The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) , District Food Office including District Administration have arranged various programmes of the day. A discussion meeting was held at local Collectorate Conference room on Sunday noon.
Deputy Commander (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam presided over. It was addressed among others by Additional SP (Finance & Admin) Mustaque Sarker as special guest, ADC (General) Golam Mostafa and Deputy Director (DD) in Agriculture Extension District Food Controller Farhad Khandaker and Sadar uno Mohammad Ali Siddique.
NSI DD Md.Iqbal, DNCRP AD Rehdoy Ronjon Bonik, Chamber president Mujibur Rahman Belal CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, Food Safety Officer Ashraful and others dignified officials were also present.
DC Mohammad Shamim Alam said, Agriculture is one of the main drivers of poverty reduction and economic development in Bangladesh. The country has achieved self-,sufficiency in food grains as a result of the adoption of appropriate policies and measures by the government, DC Mohammad Shamim added.

Anwar Hoshain Akand, Raipur Upazila Administration, Raipur and Upazila Fisheries Department, Laxmipur conducted a operation in Meghna River on the occasion of “Ma Hilsa Conservation Abhiyan” recently. Anjan Das, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate, Raipur, Md. Emdadul Haque, Senior Fisheries Officer, Raipur, In-charge of Hajimara Police Outpost Md. Mofiz, Md. Belayet Hossain, Assistant Fisheries Officer, Raipur, Abdullah Al Mahmud, Fisheries Extension Officer, were present. Raipur and PoliceAnd members of Ansar were present. In this operation, a large engine boat and a small boat were seized and about 10,000 (ten thousand) meters of illegal current nets were seized and destroyed by burning. Also, three dredger machines were seized and handed over to the Chairman of North Charbanshi Union No. 02, Md. Abul Hossain Howladar. UNO Anjan Dash said that Amador’s operation will continue to protect mother-hilsa.
