RAB arrests 6 fake DB policemen from Jatrabari

The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained six fake DB police from the city’s Jatrabari on Tuesday.
They have been identified as Sabuj Khan, 46; Mintu Patuwary, 40; Rashel Molla, 45; Iqbal Miah, 39;Monirul Islam, 40 and Khokon Miah, 40. According to the RAB officials, a team of RAB-10 arrested six members of a gang in a raid from the Dhalpur Community Center area of the capital on Monday night based on the news that a gang identified as fake DB is staying in that area of the capital to rob people withdrawing money from various banks in the Jatrabari area and under the threat of false charges and intimidation.
In the drive, the law enforcers recovered three fake DB police jackets, two walkie-talkie sets, one handcuff, one toy pistol, one hand flash light, one sticker with police monogram, seven mobile phone sets and cash Tk 10,950 from them.
RAB-10 Commander (CO) Additional DIG Mohammad Farid Uddin said this at a press conference organized at Karwan Bazar RAB Media Center on Tuesday (October 11) noon.
He said the arrested are members of an organized gang of dacoits. They have been robbing money and other valuable assets from people withdrawing a large amount of money from banks and people moving around with money for various needs in different areas of the capital including Jatrabari, Gulistan, Motijheel and Baitul Mokaram under the identity of DB police.
