Pakistan crush Malaysia in Women’s T20 Asia Cup

Pakistan Women’s Cricket team crushed Malaysia Women’s Cricket team by nine wickets in their group match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Academy Ground in Sylhet on Sunday.
Chasing Malaysia’s paltry total of 57 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, Pakistan romped home making 61 for the loss of nine wickets when they had 66 balls to spare.
Pakistan had a superb start as openers Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen contributed together 45 runs in the opening stand before Sidra Ameen was bowled out by Mahirah Izzati Ismail.
Sidra Ameen notched up a splendid 31. Her 23-ball innings was studded with five fours.
After Sidra Ameen’s dismissal, Muneeba Ali and Bismah Marrof guided their team to reach the victory target.
Muneeba Ali remained unbeaten with 21. Her 23-ball innings saw three fours.
Bismah Maroof remained unbeaten with eight runs.
Mahirah Izzati Ismail took one wicket for eight runs.
Earlier, Elsa Hunter of Malaysia was the only batter, who got success with the willow. Elsa remained unbeaten with 29 runs. She hit three fours in her 51-ball knock.
Apart from Elsa, opener Wan Julia was the other Malaysia batter who could reach the double digit figures making 11 from 24 deliveries.
Omaima Sohali grabbed three wickets in the space of 19 runs, while Tuba Hasan bagged two wickets at the cost of 13 runs. Tuba Hasan was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal took one wicket each for six and eight runs respectively.
