Govt out to create anarchy through terror acts: BNP

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday accused the government of trying to create anarchies across the country.
He said that the ruling party Awami League men are attacking BNP’s peaceful programmes in several parts in the country only for creating anarchy.
“You see, when we have started a peaceful movement protesting the people’s suffering on essential prices hiking, the government unleashed its muscle powers, party men to foil our programmes across the country,” Mirza Fakhrul said while addressing a rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Sunday.
The party held the programme on protesting deaths of its three leaders, fuel oil and essentials’ price hike and transport fare rise and attacks on its

ongoing programmes in different parts of the country.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Police killed our Jubodal and Schechchasebak dal leaders in Bhola and Jubadal leader in Narayangonj. The ruling party men attacked our programmes and injured several leaders including our national standing committee leader Begum Selima Rahman.”
“They are doisng that only to create anarchies. We asked them to restrain from such steps,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
BNP Secretary General said that the party with the participation of the people of the country will oust the government to pave a way of holding a free, fair and acceptable national election in the country.
Mirza Fakhrul said, the government has no moral to protest the neighbouring Myanmer for throwing morter shells in our border areas.
“It is not an elected government. They are snatching the state power by night time fake voting. The BNP will make the regime compelled to step down to hold a fair polls to form a people’s government,” Mirza Fakhrul said.
The BNP leader said, “We want to warn the government that time is going fast. Step down sharp, dismantle the Parliament and give the power to caretaker government soon.”
A large number of BNP leaders and activists were gathered in a rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Sunday.
Dhaka City North and South units of BNP organised the rally around 3:00pm on Sunday.
Amanullah Aman, Convener of Dhaka North city unit of BNP, presided over the rally. Dhaka South city of BNP member-secretary Rafiqul Alam Majnu and Dhaka city north BNP member-secretary Aminul Haque attended the rally.
BNP Chairperson Advisory Council Members Abdus Salam, Zainul Abdin Farooq, Abul Khair Bhuiyan, Mashiur Rahman, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Central Leader Fazlul Haque Milan, Azizul Bari Helal, Masud Ahmed Talukder, Kamruzzaman Ratan, Shirin Sultana, Mir Nawaz Ali, Saiful Alam Nirob, and a good number of the party and its front bodies leaders were present.
A large number of police personnel have been deployed in and around Nayapaltan centring the BNP’s rally programme. Prison vans, APCs and water cannons have been kept in the surrounding areas, including the Nightingale intersection in Kakrail.
Nine BNP leaders, activists arrested in a case filed by police: Police on Saturday night arrested nine leaders and activists of BNP and its associated organisations from capital’s Mirpur.
Police said they were arrested these BNP men in a case filed over attacking the police.
According to local sources, former Shah Ali unit BNP president Pappu, former joint convener of Chhattara Dal Ward – 93 unit Imran and Jubo Dal leader Kamal are among those who were arrested during the police raid.
Pallabi police station officer-in-charge Parvez Islam said that all the nine arrestees were involved in the attack on police.
Earlier on 15 September, BNP held rallies across the country protesting deaths of its three leaders, fuel oil and essentials price hike and transport fare rise.
BNP alleged Awami League men attacked their rally that left several of their party men and police members injured.
Meanwhile on Saturday, Tabith Awal, a member of BNP central executive committee, Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal and several others were injured at an attack carried out by Awami League at BNP’s candlelit procession in Banani’s Kamal Ataturk Avenue at around 7:45pm. The ruling AL men hurled brickbats and charged baton foiling the BNP’s procession.
