Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League: Kalabagan KC beat Old DOHS SC by 8 wkts

Kalabagan Krira Chakra notched an 8-wicket victory over Old DOHS Sports Club in a curtailed-over relegation league match of the Walton Refrigerator Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at the BKSP ground-4 in Savar on Thursday.
With the day’s result, Kalabagan KC retains the 10th slot with 6 points while all-loser Old DOHS SC remained at the bottom of the table without any point, both playing 12th matches.
After the 11th round match, Kalabagan KC finished 10th while Old DOHS SC placed 12th.
Kalabagan KC, Partex SC and Old DOSH SC are battling to escape relegation to first division.
In the remaining relegation league matches, Old DOHS SC will play against Partex SC on Saturday (December 20) at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah while in the last match on Monday (December 22) Kalabagan KC will meet Partex SC at BKSP ground-3 in Savar.
Meanwhile, Abahani Ltd, Prime Bank Cricket Club, Kalabagan Cricket Academy, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, defending champions Legends of Rupganj and Mohammedan Sporting Club have reached the super six round of DPL.
In the day’s curtailed 30 overs match, batting first after winning the toss, Old DOHS SC were all out for 115 in 29.1 overs.
Number six Nehaduzzaman scored team highest 30 runs off 39 balls with two fours and a six while opener Al Amin Siddik (27), Shakhir Hossain Shuvro (12), skipper Kafi Khan (11) and Rayhan Arafat (11) were the other double digit scorers for the side.
Abdur Razzak claimed five wickets for 20 runs in 5.1 overs; Shahadat Hossain grabbed three wickets for 21 runs in 6 overs while Rockibul Hasan and Fariduddin Masud took one wicket each for 23 and 29 runs, both bowled 5 overs.
Chasing 116 runs for win, Kalabagan KC reached their target losing 2 wickets in 23.1 overs with opener Nasiruddin Faroque contributing unbeaten 46 runs off 67 balls that included three fours.
Number three Shamsur Rahman scored 22 runs off 21 balls with two fours and a six while Jupitar Ghosh (19) and Elton Chigumbura (16) were the other notable scorers.
Rayhan Arafat was the only wicket-taker Old DOHS SC who grabbed two wickets for 28 runs in 6 overs.
