Probe into Govt officials meet with Khaleda begins

The Public Administration Ministry has started an inquiry about the government officials’ secret meeting with BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
“Information based on reports published in newspapers, intelligence and other sources are being scrutinised,” said State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadek at her office on Sunday.
Public Administration Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury was also present.
“No formal investigation committee has yet been formed regarding the matter. The ministry is doing initial task before formation of a committee,” the state minister said.
Terming such deeds of government officials unexpected, she said, “They cannot breach discipline. So, the government is considering possible administrative steps against them.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday warned that steps would be taken against the government officials if they had met Khaleda Zia violating law.
