Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 2275 bottles of phensidyl from Kamalpur frontier under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Tuesday morning. Commanding officer of 43 BGB battalion of Nougan Lieutenant Colonel Muzibul Hawqe said, acting on secret information a special patrol transfer of BGB of 43 battalion raided the area at around 8-30 am and recovered the bottles of phensidyl in an abandoned condition.

MA Mumit Asuk passes away

 MA Mumit Asuk died his house in Uttar Vobanipur village in Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar district at 9.30pm on Saturday . He was 65. His Janaja held on Sunday in Juri Toybunnessa Khanom college field under Juri Upazila town around 2.30pm. He is Juri Upazila chairman. He was a freedom fighter and Sub-sector commander of 4-no sector. He left behind his wives, two sons and daughter to mourn his death.He was buried at their family graveyard in the Uttar Vobanipur village in Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar district.

Students form human chain seeking 2nd chance for DU intake exam

Students of higher secondary batch of 2014 on Wednesday formed human chain in Barisal demanding the restoration of the system that allowed the admission seekers to appear twice in the intake examination of Dhaka University.The human chain rally of the students carrying red-rose flowers held in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall at city center. The participants of the programme explained that they carrying red-roses to make attention of the concerned authourity of DU requesting not to waste their flower-like life by barring participation in intake for second shot.It was addressed among others by Yasir Arafat, HSC student of 2014 batch, Sharmin Jahan Popy, secretary of district Chhatra Union, Dr. Manisha Chakraborty, district president of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front. Speaking at the demonstration rally, the speakers of HSC 2014 batch asked “Why would we be the victim of the deprivation? Who will take the responsibility of our future?

BCL activist held in Monirampur
