For the ninth time Gorobini Maa awards were given on Sunday at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital. With the initiative taken by Dr Ashis Chakraborty, Managing Director of Universal Medical College and Hospital, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme and also distributed the honours among mothers of 10 successful persons in 10 sectors. In the cultural sector, mothers of popular actor and director Mir Sabbir, actress Aparna Ghosh and singer and music composer Shayan Chowdhury Arnob received the honour at the function.
