RMG worker among two killed in city

A readymade garment (RMG) worker was hacked to death and a young woman was killed by miscreants at Demra and Savar respectively in Dhaka district on Friday.
Among the deceased, one has been identified as Md Khatib Miah, 20, son of Ayub Nabi, but the identity of another victim could not be known instantly, police said.
Quoting the locals, Demra Police Station’s Inspector Md Rafiq said that a gang of
unidentified muggers intercepted Khatib at Demra when he was returning home from work around 12:30am and killed him on the spot.
Police rushed to the spot receiving information and sent the body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) morgue for an autopsy, the police official said.
On the other hand, Savar Model Police Staiton’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafa Kamal said that a gang of unidentified miscreants might have killed the woman after rape in Savar Radio Colony area at around 1:00am. Police recovered the body from a ditch near Radio Colony Bus Stand on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway early morning on the day.
The body had been sent to the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.
The miscreants had dumped the body in the ditch after killing, the police official said. Police are interrogating the matter, he said.
