Southeast Bank fined Tk 10 lakh for flouting stock rules

The Bangladesh Bank has imposed a fine of Tk 10 lakh on Southeast Bank for breaching rules by making an excessive amount of investment in a single company in the stock market.
The private commercial bank was the latest lender to have faced penalty for breaching security rules.
Southeast Bank parked 22.05 per cent of its paid-up capital with National Life Insurance Company Ltd (NLICL), in clear violation of the Bank Company Act 1991, according to a central bank probe.
BPM declares 12pc dividend

Bashundhara Paper Mills has recommended a 12% cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday, the company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk2.37 and net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk45.81 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, as against Tk1.64 and Tk43.55 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company is scheduled to take place online on December 28, 2021.
Basundhara Paper Mills made its debut on Dhaka Stock Exchange on July 2, 2018. During Monday’s trade, its closing price was TK45.1.
Bangas declares 4pc dividend

Bangas has recommended a 4% cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday, the company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk0.23 and net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk21.02 for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company is scheduled to take place online on December 30, 2021.
During Monday’s trade, the closing price of Bangas was Tk118.9.
