No trade license without fire-safety measures at shopping malls

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md Atiqul Islam has said that no trade license to be issued to any shop or shopping mall without having fire safety measures.
“If there is no fire-safety measures, the concerned shop or shopping mall will be closed down,” he told a seminar titled “Fire Safety: What We Should Do?” at Nagar Bhaban in city’s Gulshan area on Thursday.
He said Dhaka North City Corporation has, so far, issued 3,80,000 trade licenses. Every shop, shopping mall and commercial building should be operated in compliance with the importance of public safety, he added.
He urged all to play due roles from their respective positions to build a safe city.
Prime Minister’s Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, also spoke as a keynote speaker.
