Two arrested with ‘magic mushroom’ in city

Staff Reporter :
Rab arrested two persons on charge of smuggling the hallucinogenic drug Psilocybin-known as “magic mushroom”-and selling it in the country, during a raid in Dhaka’s Hatirjheel area early Wednesday.
The arrestees are: Nagib Hasan Arnab (24), and Taifur Rashid Jahid (23).
A team of Rab arrested them along with 120 slices of “magic mushroom” and two bottles of foreign alcohol, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Rab’s Legal and Media wing director, told a press briefing at Rab media centre on Wednesday.
Taifur was initially addicted to cannabis and later started taking hallucinogenic drugs like LSD
and DMT. He also looked for “magic mushroom” but failed, Rab said in a press release.
He later communicated with his childhood friend Nagib in Canada for the drug. In May this year, Nagib smuggled the drugs into the country.
Both the accused used to take the drug and sell those to others, Rab said.
