Eid-ul-Fitr celebrating in Middle East including Saudi Arabia
Online Desk :
Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the major religious festivals in the Muslim world, is being celebrated in various countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia. It is a day of great joy for Muslims after a month of fasting.
Earlier, a scheduled meeting of Saudi Arabia’s moon sighting committee was held on Tuesday and announced the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday as the moon of the month of Shawwal was not sighted anywhere in the country on that day.
Eid prayers were held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines on Thursday morning, reports Khaleej Times, saying that the worshipers of these countries took part in the Eid congression following the local restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eid prayers are being held in Saudi Arabia on a limited scale this year as well due to the pandemic.
According to the Khaleej Times, the worshipers in Dubai took part in the Eid congression on Thursday morning in the open field in compliance with the COVID restrictions. Besides, worshipers in other cities, including Sydney in Australia and Jakarta in Indonesia, took part in Eid prayers following proper hygiene rules.
Due to geographical reasons, the moon is usually seen in the sky of Bangladesh after a day in the Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia. As a result, Eid will be celebrated in Bangladesh a day after celebrating in Saudi Arabia. As such, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Friday.
However, Muslims perform all religious festivals and worships subject to the moon sighting as per the religious rules.
