Coastal people heave a sigh of relief

With the passing of cyclone Hudhud without hitting the area, people of coastal belt in the southern districts have heaved a sigh of relief on Sunday.
The coastal regions of Bhola, Patuakhali Barguna and Sundarban belt of Pirojpur and inner areas of Barisal and Jhalakathi districts of the division on Sunday only faced squally and cloudy weather in most of the day.
Coastal areas continued hoisting weather signal no.3 at Payra marine port and surrounding areas of Kalapara and Patharghata coast and signal no. 2 at inner river ports.
Preparation to face affect of cyclone Hudhud in Barisal region river port authourities stopped operations of passenger carrier small water transports from Saturday noon.
They also asked triple-deck water transport to operate cautiously from the ports of the region, Md. Shahidullah, deputy director BIWTA and Barisal River Port officer said.
The Barisal city-sky remained cloudy all over the day with light to mid-range short-time raining taking intervals with 5-10 Km per hour wind speed on Sunday afternoon.
