BNP leader Asim gets HC bail

The High Court on Sunday granted an anticipatory bail for four weeks to BNP leader Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim in a case filed for vandalism.
An HC vacation bench comprising Justice Borhan Uddin and Justice Abu Taher Mohammad Saifur Rahman passed the order when his lawyer Joynul Abedin filed a petition seeking bail.
The court also asked Asim, human rights affairs secretary of BNP, to surrender before the lower court before expiry of the bail. Police filed the case accusing Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim of ordering his supporters to vandalise a vehicle at Dhanmondi-2 on October 1.
