Bashundhara beat Saif

Reigning champions Bashundhara Kings beat Saif Sporting Club by 2-1 goals in their match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday.
Bashundhara Kings led the points table gaining 28 points from 10 matches, while Saif Sporting Club earned 13 points from nine matches.
John Okoli of Saif Sporting Club put his team ahead by a right-footer angular shot in the 18th minute of the play.
Sabuz of Bashundhara Kings equalized the margin by a spectacular header in the 33rd minute of the play.
Bashundhara’s Brazilian recruit Robson sealed the fate of the match (2-1) by a forceful 35-yarder in the 37th minute of the game.
Bashundhara missed their first opportunity in the 11th minute of the clash. But their Brazilian recruit Robinho’s shot went wide.
After the interval, Bashundhara got another chance but their Argentine striker Raul’s header went over the crosspiece.
Saif Sporting Club were awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute of the match. But their Nigerian recruit Keneth’s spot-kick was thwarted by Bashundhara goalie Ziko.
Meanwhile, the day’s other match between Arambagh Krira Sangha and Uttar Baridhara Club ended in a 4-4 draw at the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.
Christopher Chizoba of Arambagh Krira Sangha put his team ahead in the 13th minute of the match.
Arif of Uttar Baridhara Club leveled the margin in the 15th minute of the game.
After eight minutes Sadik of Arambagh made in 2-1.
Nihat of Arambagh increased the tally into 3-1 in the 40th minute.
Captain of Uttar Baridhara Club Sumon made it 2-3 in the 53rd minute.
After three minutes Sumon equalized the margin.
Sujon of Uttar Baridhara made it 4-3 in the 58th minute of the game.
Arambagh’s Egyptian recruit Mahmud Sayde sealed the fate of the match (4-4) in the 82nd minute of the play.
