Riaz-Poppy in small screen after nine years

Two national film award winners Riaz and Poppy will be seen in the small screen as pair in a TV play after nine years. Directed by Himel Ashraf Riaz and Poppy have performed together in the play titled Tobuo Tumi Aamar under the script written by Faruk Hossain.
Riaz and Poppy first acted together in the small screen in SA Haque Alik’s directed a telefilm titled Mem Saheb, which was produced by journalist Kamrul Hasan Darpan. The telefilm was telecast on Banglavision in Eid-ul-Azha of 2005. Though the telefilm was attracted to the viewers Riaz and Poppy didn’t act together in any TV play or telefilm later.
While sharing his feelings to act in the play Tobuo Tumi Aamar Riaz told this correspondent, “Poppy is not only a serious actress but also a very sincere performer. She always wants to try to learn something. It is a good sign for an actress. While working with her in this play I was very much nostalgic.”
Poppy shared her feelings by this way, “Riaz is always a friendly minded actor. He is so cooperative performer. I think viewers will enjoy our new work.”
The play Tobuo Tumi Aamar will go on air on Banglavision during coming Eid-ul-Azha.
Meanwhile, in the big screen, Riaz and Poppy last acted together in Chandan Chowdhury’s directed a movie titled Ki Jadu Korila in 2008. They first performed together in late Mohammad Hannan’s directed a movie titled Bidroho Charidike.
