4 Mind Aid hospital employees sent to jail

A Dhaka court yesterday sent four employees of Mind Aid Psychiatry and De-Addiction Hospital to the jail in a case filed over the death of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Anisul Karim on November 9.
The accused are Coordinator Redwan Sabbir (23), Ward Boys Zobair Hossain (19), Md Liton Ahmmad (18) and Md Saidul Islam Palash (35).

Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order after Md Faruk Mollah, Inspector of Adabor Police Station and Investigation Officer of the case, produced them in his court on completion of their seven-day remand.
In the forwarding report submitted yeterday, the IO said the four arrested accused gave important information about the incident which was being verified. Later, he appealed to the court to keep them in the jail until the investigation is completed.
The defence, however, submitted separate petitions seeking bail saying that their clients were not involved with the incident.
Hearing both sides, the Magistrate turned down their bail petitions and sent them to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.
Anisul’s father Faijuddin Ahmed filed the case with Adabor Police Station on November 10, a day after the incident, accusing 15 people, including five shareholders of the hospital, of murdering his 35-year-old son.
