Jamaat holds rally in Nilphamari

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a rally and brought out a procession in Nilphamari on Saturday, to mark the second anniversary of the July Mass Uprising.

The rally was held on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and was presided over by Maulana Abdus Sattar, ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nilphamari district unit and Member of Parliament for the Nilphamari-1 (Domar-Dimla) constituency.

Among the speakers were Advocate Al Faruq Abdul Latif, district secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami and Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-2; Obaidullah Salafi, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-3; and Hafiz Mohammad Muttakim, Member of Parliament for Nilphamari-4. District and upazila-level leaders of the party also addressed the rally.

The speakers emphasised the importance of upholding the spirit of the July Mass Uprising. They also discussed the country’s current political situation, democracy, the rights of the people, and other contemporary national issues.

Following the rally, a procession marched through the main streets of the district town with the participation of party leaders, activists, and supporters from across the district.
