6 MPs test corona positive prior to special JS session
Six MPs found contaminated with coronavirus after testing their samples prior to the special session of the Parliament to mark Mujib Borsho, birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Sunday evening.
The parliament secretariat confirmed through a press release that Members of Parliament Habibun Nahar, Deputy Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Affairs Ministry, Md Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, former whip and MP from Naogaon-2, Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin from Dhaka-10, Nuruzzaman Biswas from Pabna-4 and two lawmakers
from reserved seats for women, Nadira Yasmin Jolly and Tahmina Begum are tested positive of Covid-19.
President Abdul Hamid on October 21 convened the special session of Parliament.
Officials from the parliament secretariat said that a resolution will be passed following discussions of MPs on the life and works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Earlier, on January 31 and June 18 in 1974 the parliament sited with two special sessions.
The special session was scheduled to be held on March 22 but it got postponed following the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
