DU-affiliated of 7 college students demonstrate in city

Students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday took to the streets to realise home their demands as early as possible. Hundreds of students formed the human chain in front of National Press Club in the capital around 10:30am as part of their demonstration.
The protesters said that the solution to various inconsistencies and problems facing the seven colleges is limited to
assurance only. Though the administration has promised to take necessary steps to address the problems, there is no reality. At this time, the students raised their seven-point demands so that authorities must implement it.
Their demands are-
1. Authority must take effective measures to ensure the all sessions to the next regularisation of sessions.
2. Honors 2015-16 and 2016-17 academic year examinations have to be taken very quickly and the results have to be published.
3. Results for all academic years must be published within 90 days.
4. The results of the ongoing degree special examination for the year of 2012-13 must be completed quickly and results must be published within a month.
5. The rules of promotion to the next year at 2.00 / 2.25 / 2.50 points of 2017-18 academic year should be canceled and the unsuccessful students should be promoted up to three subjects.
6. All the quality improvement examinations have to be taken very quickly and all the results including Degree, Honours and Masters have to be re-evaluated along with the reasons for mass failure.
7. The results of the ongoing examination of the 1st part of the Preliminery Masters of 2015-16 sessions will have to be published very soon. Students of more than one session cannot be kept in the same session.
